About

Hi,

I’m Rajini Hede, an Architect based in Goa, India, and this site is to share what I love to do:

COOKING 🙂

Many of the recipes you find on this site are those that I learnt from my mother, some of which she picked up from her mother, her mother-in-law and friends when my parents settled in Goa. Therefore, the end result of most of these recipes are a fusion of South Indian, Goan and international flavours, all tweaked to suit the personal preferences of my crazy foodie family. Having two enthusiastic ‘bakras’ in the house to experiment on helps immensely! My hubby then started clicking photos of the food on his phone for his ‘Khau Piyu’ album on Facebook. At times the photos do look more tempting than the food itself.

These recipes were written on scraps of dog-eared paper stuffed in a book, until it would grow, burst at the seams, fall apart and I was forced to move to another and another…. and another! I have tried to write them in as understandable a format as possible, including all details, big and small. Not one to be allergic to constructive criticism about my cooking, the scope for improvement and experimentation is endless, making the whole culinary experience more fun!

I love to cook. End of story! I enjoy watching friends and family devour the food and that’s gratifying!

It always helps to read through the recipe before diving headlong into it. Gather all the required ingredients and appliances first, and then and only then, begin. Rather than using random spoons and cups to measure ingredients, a set of measuring cups and spoons help a great deal when trying out recipes from any online sources.

Every recipe might not be for everyone, but I certainly hope everyone finds something gastronomically fulfilling on this site.

There is a comments box below every recipe, so feel free to put in your culinary queries, suggestions and recipe requests. Constructive criticism is always welcome!

Bon Appetit!
